Pigments I use only pigments and paints that are the highest rated for lightfastness and durability. Papers I use
archival art papers of 100% cotton rag. All
frames are archivally constructed and fitted using acid-free, 100% rag
mats and tapes and are sealed to prevent dust or other invasion from
breaching the integrity of the frame.
The large framed works are framed with special UV protective glass
for further shielding from harmful ultraviolet rays.
UV Protection To give your collection the longest life, keep works away from extended
exposure to direct sunlight or other sources of UV light.
As with any artwork using color, it is a good idea
periodically to give the work a “rest” from light by putting it away
in a dark area.
Wood Frames Wood frames may be buffed with a soft, clean, lint-free cloth. An annual application of wood wax or light oil polish will help preserve the wood. Acrylic Paintings on Wood Acrylic paintings on wood have been thoroughly varnished with a UV protective coating. A feather duster or wiping gently very soft cloth will keep the work clean. A very slightly damp cloth may be used gently, on occasion. It is a good idea to dust periodically. If you have any questions or concerns about your artwork or if I can be of any further assistance, please email me at customer-service@juliaoreilly.com and put CUSTOMER SERVICE in the subject line. I enjoy hearing from you. |
