GICLÉE PRINTING
Giclée (jhee-clay) is derived from the French verb giclér meaning to squirt or to spray. The term “giclée print” characteristically defines a very high quality printing technology. Images are very high resolution digital scans printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates (papers or canvas). All prints sold by Julia O'Reilly are Limited Edition prints, signed and numbered. When the edition is complete, no more prints will be run from that image. MORE ABOUT GICLÉE The giclée process provides more accurate color than other means of reproduction. Artwork
can be reproduced to almost any size and on various media, giving the
artist the ability to customize prints for a specific client.
There
are several research firms who are working to develop and refine the giclée
technology, and who are continually testing papers and inks for the
qualities necessary for color accuracy and durability.
