Maybe you've heard about the drama and diverse seascapes of Oregon's coastline.
Come for 4 days and 3 nights (Thursday - Sunday) to experience and paint some of Oregon's legendary coastal treasures.
Want to get more out of your color? I'll be focusing this workshop on the powerful use of color as space and light. For beginners, we'll talk about the fundamentals for plein air painting. And of course, plenty of one-on-one instruction at your easel for those who wish it, or just take the painting time for yourself.
I'll be demonstrating with gouache, and how I work to coax the maximum benefits of this incredibly rich and somewhat overlooked medium.
You're welcome to bring your own medium of choice for outdoors. (No acrylics or oils for painting indoors for this one, please.)
We'll have plenty of time for relaxing, and time to discuss our work.
You'll claim your own reservation in your luxurious rooms of choice at a special price, at the beautiful Overleaf Lodge in Yachats, Oregon. All rooms have a beach view, and either a balcony or patio and direct beach entry.
Rooms include breakfast.
Box lunches and one evening meal are also included in the price.
Gouache is a water-soluble medium similar to watercolor, but toothier and opaque (so you can paint light colors over dark colors!). Gouache is a wonderfully flexible medium that allows for transparency and a wide range of texture possibilities. We'll have an option for purchasing a gouache painting kit, if you'd like to jump in and try this exciting medium.
